Ratcliffe College is delighted with its excellent ‘A’ Level results this year, despite the drop in grades across the country.  Of the 63 candidates, a most impressive 37% of the results were awarded at A*/A grades (12% were A* grades, with eight candidates gaining straight As).

An impressive 83% of the results were all A* to C grades in their three or four subjects, with nearly one fifth of the cohort achieving three A grades or better.  Many students also obtained additional AS qualifications.

Headmaster, Mr Gareth Lloyd, commented:

“Our current Year 13 students have been exemplary in every way; I am so proud of them.  They have worked extremely hard to access exciting and fulfilling opportunities after school; they have played hard in a fantastic variety of extra-curricular activities, especially sport, music and drama; and most importantly, they have looked after each other and others both within the School community and beyond.  I am delighted that their exemplary work ethic has been rewarded with demonstrable academic success.  We are especially pleased that, at the time of writing, the overwhelming majority of applicants have secured places at their first choice university.  Congratulations to students and staff!”
