Boarding – Trip to Rutland Water
As part of the Summer term weekend trips and activates programme a large of boarders headed to Rutland Water for an afternoon of Kayaking, Canoeing and SUP (Stand-up-paddle-boarding!!). The group were pre-warned that the likelihood of them getting wet was very high! So kitted out in swimwear with suitable wetsuits and life jackets the pupils headed to the boathouse for their issue of equipment and safety briefing. Having finally go onto the water it wasn’t long before Ganesh capsized the 4-man kayak and so the fun began. Similarly, Allen Loo found the SUP board a little difficult to master despite the calm conditions and fell in on several occasions. A certain Eleanor Bramble was not impressed as someone dared to suggest that she might get wet! After a great afternoon some pupils were invited to ‘Bomb’ into the water off the nearby jetty and this provide great fun and a great way to finish off the afternoon on the water. An Ice cream from the local café proved a popular option for all to dry out and chat about a great afternoon for our boarding community.
