INSPIRE – Exploding the Myths of WW1
We had an excellent turnout from Years 10-13 (including many historians) for this week’s INSPIRE. Br Cave captivated the audience from start to finish with his engaging delivery and expert insight into military technology in the First World War.
My thanks to Br Cave (Old Ratcliffian) for a thoroughly informative evening and for bringing a fascinating array of artefacts, which included an Austro-Hungarian knuckleduster, a German schnapps bottle and a decommissioned hand grenade.
Anna Williams (Year 12) writes: ‘The aspect of Brother Cave’s talk I found most interesting was learning about the complex machinery used on the battlefield in the First World War and the positives and negatives that came with using this in practice.’
