Mr Jonathan (Jon) Reddin has been appointed as the new Headmaster of Ratcliffe College, taking up the post on 1st January 2017, succeeding Mr Gareth Lloyd after eight years of outstanding service.

Ratcliffe is a Catholic, independent school for boys and girls aged 3-18, with boarding available from ages 9–18, set in 200 acres of rolling countryside, seven miles north of Leicester.

Mr Reddin joined Ratcliffe College as Second Deputy Head in 2008, and was promoted to the post of Senior Deputy Head in 2013.  In these two roles, his commitment to the students’ pastoral welfare and support of the Staff has been exemplary.  His pivotal role in co-ordinating the Independent Schools’ Inspection of 2015 ensured that Ratcliffe College was judged ‘Excellent’ in all nine categories – a superb achievement.

Mr Reddin read Sports Science at the University of Loughborough, where he continued to complete his Master’s Degree.  During this time, he captained the English Universities’ Football Team, as well as developing a very high level of skills across many sports.  After gaining his Post-Graduate Certificate of Education from Loughborough, Mr Reddin commenced his professional career as a teacher of Academic PE and Games and Resident Boarding Tutor at Kimbolton School, before moves to The Licensed Victuallers’ School, Ascot, and Brentwood School, where he distinguished himself in the role of Director of Sport.

Mr Reddin is married with two children who are thriving at the School.  On his appointment, Mr Reddin commented: “I am deeply humbled.  I recognise both the great privilege and responsibility that accompany this position, and assure all who love Ratcliffe College that I shall commit myself whole-heartedly to ensure the continued sense of happiness that pervades the School and which results in such wonderful academic and co-curricular successes.”
