Prep School Sports Report – 24th January
Date: Wednesday 24th January
On Wednesday, the U11A team had their debut match against Fairfield. Both teams played some good netball, with the score fixed at 0-0 until the 3rd quarter when suddenly, the gameplay changed. Our girls started to play fast, attacking netball with strong passes and using excellent spacing. Miss Stanley was on the edge of her whistle with the excitement in the change of pace. The game had really begun! The goal scoring began and we were winning. However, as we raised our game so did Fairfield and in the last few minutes of the game, Fairfield scored a final goal, which ended the game at 4-3. The standard of netball played was fantastic and the girls are ready to meet Fairfield again on Saturday at Foremarke Hall and hopefully will come away victorious! Well done to all girls.

The girls had a fantastic game beating Fairfield 2 – 0. The girls won many interceptions and had the main share of possession. It was an exciting game and one the girls deserved to win, both Maisie and Grace showed excellent movement, creating lots of attacking opportunities. Well done, an excellent win.

Wow! This is how Mrs Gilchrist described the performance of the U10A team. The girls played brilliantly against Fairfield and showed huge potential as they worked on their set pieces, passed the ball quickly and found space. There was some excellent shooting from Gracie Smith and Romy Totton. Charlotte Shield and Lily Stevenson worked tirelessly in the middle of the court whilst Zara Etty, Freya Mackay and Eloise Allsager defended with all their might. Imogen Barker and Florance Newham supported the girls well and the girls proved to be a tremendous team. The score was a narrow loss by 7 goals to 5. Well done on your first match of the season.

The girls got off to a great start against Fairfield with lots of lovely passing and movement off the ball. The girls dealt with the strong side well and our defence, consisting of Hermione Bruiners and Isabella Elsby, made some fantastic interceptions. However, the opposition was just too strong in the end and we came out with a 7-0 loss. Well done to all the girls involved.

The girls were up against a strong Fairfield team. Fairfield had the majority of play in their D but all of the girls defended brilliantly. We made some brilliant passes down the pitch with Connie Bowden moving into some great space. Unfortunately, the girls couldn’t secure a win on this occasion but they enjoyed the game and now have things to work on. Well done girls.
