Year 5 Trip to the National Space Centre – 22nd May 2014
On Thursday 22nd May, Year 5 ventured to the National Space Centre as part of their science topic ‘Earth, Sun and Moon’. We started off with a workshop looking at rockets, where we got to design, build and test our own rockets. After some super attempts to fly the rockets to the moon, we moved on to the Planetarium to watch a wonderful presentation on being an astronaut.
After a lunch stop and a trip to the shop, we were able to visit the interactive displays where we learnt about space travel over the years, as well as the planets in our solar system. Coupled with a spot of television weather presenting and a ride on a space travel simulator, we can quite easily say that our visit was out of this world!!
