Funny Bones in Year 4
On Friday 28th September Year 4 had a visit from Mr R Ashford (an orthopaedic consultant) and his registrar Dr J Nicholls. The visit was to complement the Year 4 Science work about ‘Moving and Growing’. The doctors gave the class a very interesting and informative presentation about bones, as well as, showing them replica bones and replacement joints. There were also thigh bones from different animals for comparison and they both adeptly answered questions the children had prepared earlier. We all thoroughly enjoyed the visit, but perhaps the highlight was at the end when some of us had our arms put in protective plaster bandages!
